Jewel Osco, a subsidiary of Albertson’s Companies, is a leading supermarket chain in the midwest with 187 stores. With a distribution campus located just outside of Chicago and total SQ FT exceeding 1.5 million, these facilities are the heart of Jewel Osco’s operation.
Challenged by poor light levels, high maintenance costs and a demand from corporate headquarters to reduce energy consumption, the facility reached out to US Energy Recovery to provide an energy efficient LED lighting improvement project. After successfully implementing the project, Jewel Osco is now experiencing $380,836 in total annual savings. In addition to the savings, the facility light levels have improved by over 500%. These facilities are now more productive, safer, and energy efficient.

Aligning with U.S. Energy Recovery worked out to be a really nice partnership. There was little to no effort on our end for this project. - Chris Herrick, Facility Manager
