Savanna Public School’s main priority is to give their students the best learning environment possible. After suffering from state budget cuts, Savanna Public School was looking to save money on their bottom line. They had many failed lights throughout the campus causing dark areas in classrooms, which impeded on the student’s learning. The U.S. Energy Recovery team suggested a full campus retrofit including interior, exterior, the gymnasium, and the sports complex. Not only did the project meet and exceed the recommended lighting levels, but they were able to get a 1.3-year return on investment. This project helped to enhance the student’s learning environment. Krebs is now able to invest more in their students from year to year with the energy savings.

“We are seeing approximately $700 in savings on our electric bill. U.S. Energy came in and did everything. Our maintenance people are no longer changing anything out. We have not messed with any lights since they were installed and we are getting caught up on campus with other projects that have needed to be done for a while.” -Gary Reeder, Superintendent
